SIT gets remand of Badlapur sex abuse accused

Thane: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the case of sexual abuse of two four-year-old girls of a school in Badlapur on Thursday took the accused's one-day police custody from the court to investigate him in the second FIR registered against accused in the same case.After getting one day's police custody, the SIT took the accused into police custody from Adharwadi jail, where the accused was kept.The SIT investigated the accused for a day and on Friday produced him in the Special POCSO court in Kalyan.At court, the SIT officials, after one day's investigation, claimed to have completed all the necessary investigations with the accused and requested the court to send him to jail custody, after which the court sent him to jail custody.The accused was later sent to Adharwadi jail.According to police sources, the SIT has also requested the court for a test identification parade of the accused in the case, which has been accepted by the court. The identification parade of the accused will be conducted in the jail premises in the coming one or two days.The investigator is now waiting for the report of the technical evidence collected, after which the SIT team will try to file a charge sheet as soon as possible so that the case can be further tried in the fast track court.Sources said that in this case, they have collected many witnesses and evidence so that it can help in getting the accused punished.It may be recalled that in this case, the local police initially on the night of August 16 had registered the first FIR against the accused under the POCSO Act on basis of second victim's mother complaint. However, later the SIT registered a separate FIR on August 15 related to the first victim's ordeal in the case to make a watertight case against the accused.
