MUMBAI: Sporadic showers since the last two days have brought some relief for Mumbaikars. Not only have nights turned cooler, but the day-time temperatures have dipped too.
The temperatures dipped about a degree on Friday, when Colaba recorded a maximum of 30.8 degrees Celsius and Santa Cruz 30.8 degrees Celsius—both two degrees below normal. Minimum temperatures too were 24 degrees Celsius and 23.6 degrees Celsius in Colaba and Santa Cruz respectively—more than a degree less than Thursday.
The Met department has said neither the change in temperatures nor the showers have anything to do with cyclone Phailin that originated in the Bay of Bengal. For a few days, the weather is likely to continue to be similar to that of Friday.
