Shop owner duped of Rs 1 lakh in Mumbai by cyber fraudster

MUMBAI: A cyber fraudster siphoned off Rs 1.12 lakh from the bank account of a 38-year-old electronic accessories shop owner while he was trying to get a refund for his Fastag recharge.

The complainant told MRA Marg police that he was to travel to Gujarat. However, while recharging his car’s Fastag account, he accidentally typed Rs 15,000 instead of Rs 1,500. To get a refund he came across accused’s number online, who asked him to download AnyDesk, and fill his bank account details.

Later, his net banking and google pay got blocked. Next day when he went to the bank he found that Rs 1.12lakh have been siphoned off from his account.
