Pawar, speaking to tte media, confirmed that the campaign has begun, following a launch event with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Shiv Sena's Uddhav Thackeray. He will hold three meetings in Nagpur on Thursday and will continue with meetings in Hinganghat and other parts of Maharashtra in the coming days.

“Our campaign for the Maharashtra Assembly elections has started. Today, I will hold three meetings in Nagpur, and tomorrow, I will be in Hinganghat. The people of Maharashtra want change, and we will work to restore their confidence,” said Pawar.

The opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) coalition, consisting of Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and the NCP, is aiming to challenge the ruling Mahayuti alliance, which includes the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, the BJP, and the Ajit Pawar-led NCP.

The Baramati constituency, historically a stronghold of the Pawar family, is set for a high-stakes contest between NCP leader Ajit Pawar and his nephew, Yugendra Pawar, the son of Ajit Pawar’s brother.

This follows a heated battle in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, where Supriya Sule triumphed over Sunetra Pawar by a margin of 1.5 lakh votes.
