Sena woos voters with Marathi stars
MUMBAI: The Shiv Sena has begun poaching on the Marathi entertainment industry in an attempt to consolidate its sons-of-the-soil votebank. Sena CEO Uddhav Thackeray on Friday paraded the party's prized catch-noted TV personality Aadesh Bandekar-at a press meet at Matoshree.
The Sena gameplan is to rope in Marathi actors in an attempt to wean away the GenNext voters from the Raj Thackeray-led MNS.
1x1 polls
Sena recently admitted to its fold singer Abhijit Sawant. Both Bandekar and Sawant are said to be the Sena's probable candidates for the Maharashtra assembly polls scheduled for October 13. Suchitra, Aadesh's wife and state TV personality in her own right, also joined the Sena on Friday.
