Mumbai: Opener Divyaansh Saxena’s ton (102, 214b, 10x4, 1x6) and Armaan Jaffer’s 67 (134b, 9x4, 1x6) ensured a 69-run lead for Mumbai on Day Two of their Col CK Nayudu Trophy (for Under-25) quarterfinal at the Narendra Modi Stadium’s ‘B’ ground in Ahmedabad on Tuesday.
Saxena and Jaffer added 137 for the second wicket as Mumbai scored 273. The talented Saxena played for the India Under-19 team in 2019 and 2020, scoring 747 runs in 18 games@53.35. The youngster learnt his cricket at former India skipper Dilip Vengsarkar’s academy.
For Karnataka,

Shivakumar BU

took four for 41, as Mumbai collapsed from 205 for three to 273, losing seven wickets for 68 runs. Karnataka were 110 for three in their second innings. They now have a lead of 41, with seven wickets in hand.

as the captain of the Mumbai team for the Under-19 Cooch Behar Trophy knockouts in Kolkata. Mumbai play Rajasthan in the quarterfinals from April 18. The squad includes Angrkrish Raghuvanshi, who played for India in the Under-19 World Cup, and recently did well for the Mumbai U-25 team in the Cooch Behar Trophy.
