MUMBAI: In a setback to the police in the Sandhya Singh murder case, the Bombay HC has granted bail to her son Raghuveer Singh, who was arrested for his murder. Justice Revati Mohite-Dere ordered that Raghuveer (24) be released on a personal bond of Rs 50,000. He has also been asked to inform the police of his place of residence and not leave Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane without the court's permission. The court has also directed Raghuveer to report to the police station once a month.
"The prosecution case rests entirely on the circumstantial evidence, and the circumstances as they stand, are neither clinching nor sufficient, prima facie, to show the complicity of (Raghuveer)," said the judge.
Sandhya Singh had gone missing on December 13, 2012. Her mortal remains were later found in a marsh on January 27, 2013.
