MUMBAI: Within 24 hours of the firing on Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s house, the city crime branch late Monday evening arrested two persons.
The two accused were arrested from Gujarat's Bhuj and both hail from Bihar, police said.
The Unit 9 of the crime branch led by inspector Daya Nayak arrested Vikas alias Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal who carried out the firing at the behest of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
According to reports, shooters threw their pistols in a river in Surat.
Prima facie the duo told police that they carried out the orders for monetary considerations.
Police said the shooters fired blindly at Khan's balcony in the wee hours of Sunday at Galaxy apartment at Bandstand in Bandra and their sole intention was not to harm Khan but to send a fear.
