MUMBAI:The Saki Naka police on Friday rescued a 12-year-old boy, who was allegedly kidnapped from Akola on Wednesday.

MUMBAI:The Saki Naka police on Friday rescued a 12-year-old boy, who was allegedly kidnapped from Akola on Wednesday. Two persons, Anwar Bakridi 35) and Salim Chaudhary (19) have been arrested in this case.
Police said that Shahzad Ali (12), son of Akolabased businessman Shamsher Ali was allegedly kidnapped by Anwar while he was playing outside his house in the Ramdas Peth area of Akola.

“The boy was whisked into an autorickshaw and brought to Mumbai in a train the same day,’’ sources said.
Anwar reportedly demanded Rs 2 lakhs from Mr Ali and threatened to kill his son, if his demands were not met. Anwar and his accomplice Salim asked him to hand over the sum to them in a hotel at Saki Naka.
The Mumbai police who took over the case from their counterparts in Akola laid a trap outside Hotel Lucky at Saki Naka on Friday and nabbed Salim, who came to collect the cash from Mr Ali.The other accused was also nabbed from the same area, while attempting to flee with the boy in an autorickshaw. Mr Ali told the police that he had taken a loan of Rs 2 lakhs to pay the kidnappers. Police said that Anwar, an Akola resident, was previously employed with Mr Ali, while his Mumbai-based accomplice, Salim, is unemployed.
