and two other revenue department staff for allegedly taking bribe of Rs 4 lakh in Ulhasnagar. The accused Vijaya Jadhav, 44, is posted as SDO (sub-divisional officer) at

Ulhasnagar

division of Thane collector office while Vikas Pawar,43, is posted as Naib Tehsildar and Tanaji Pawar, 44, as clerk.

Sources said that complainant advocate Nilesh Jadhav on behalf of his client Gunabai Bhoir approached Thane ACB and got the trio arrested. The ACB sources said that a few months before Gunabai had approached Vijaya who holds the magistrate's power to add some of her relatives' name to 7/12 record of land belongs to her ancestral property.

To add name, however Vijaya demanded bribe of Rs 5 lakh from Gunabai which she settled down at Rs 4 lakh. Upset with bribe demand, Gunabai approached her lawyer Nilesh who was looking her case. Later on behalf of Gunabai, Nilesh approached the Thane ACB officials. Acting on Nilesh's complaint, ACB officials on Monday evening laid the trap and arrested the trio for accepting bribe money.
