Rajput was picked up from his residence at Kotnaka, Uran, on Tuesday night.
The operation was carried out by P S Adhale, assistant commissioner of police, Sudam Auti, senior inspector of Uran police station, inspector Ganesh Gaikwad and assistant inspector Ravindra Daundkar, under the guidance of deputy commissioner of police (zone 2), Ankush Shinde.
Ravindra Daundkar said, "Earlier this month, Khanpur police of Jhalawad district in the Rajasthan police sought our help to nab the accused who was believed to be hiding in Uran. Since, we did not have complete details of Rajput's whereabouts, we had to investigate the matter meticulously." He added, "When we arrested him, he looked surprised, since he had no police record in Navi Mumbai."
DCP Ankush Shinde, "Rajput was wanted by the Rajasthan police for a murder, two case of attempt to murder, a robbery and several extortion cases.
After gang leader Anurag Chandrawat was killed by rivals a decade, Rajput fled to Maharashtra."
