MUMBAI: The Punjab Kings have decided to release their former captain and opener Mayank Agarwal and West Indian allrounder Odean Smith ahead of the IPL-2023 auction, even as they have retained Tamil Nadu big-hitter Shahrukh Khan.

In other significant moves, four-time champions Chennai Super Kings ended their hugely successful 11-year association with legendary all-rounder Dwayne Bravo while Sunrisers Hyderabad released star batter and skipper Kane Williamson .

Hales, Cummins opt out

England's T20 World Cup winner Alex Hales has opted out of the 2023 IPL. Hales joins compatriot Sam Billings and Australian Test and ODI captain Pat Cummins as players who will miss the event.
