MUMBAI: Despite two apology statements on Twitter, one via a video on Wednesday and the second in writing on Thursday morning, it appears that BJP MLA Ram Kadam is not finding much support from within the Sangh Parivar.
In a video that went viral, Kadam was seen teling the crowd at a
dahi handi event in Ghatkopar that he would help youths kidnap the girl that they like, even if she says no to their proposal.
Though most BJP leaders, including women leaders, have refrained from commenting against his remarks on kidnapping women, the BJP students' wing ABVP (Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad) held a 'joote maaro' protest against the Ghatkopar MLA in his constituency, and BJP national spokesperson Shaina NC said she was "shocked" by his comments.
Swati Chaudhary, Mumbai sah-mantri of ABVP said CM
Devendra Fadnavis should take action against Kadam. There was some speculation on Thursday that the widespread criticism may force BJP to take action against Kadam.
