MUMBAI: The Mumbai police plan to divest powers from its social service branch for conducting raids at beer bars and hotels.
The decision was taken by senior IPS officers on Thursday following the arrest of senior inspector Shanker Mahadik and inspector Narendra Singh from the social service branch in a Rs 1.5-lakh bribery case recently.
Sources said that police commissioner R.S.
