MUMBAI: The Pant Nagar police are on the lookout for two persons for duping 34 persons by promising them a job in Taiwan and collecting Rs 13.50 lakh from them.

MUMBAI: The Pant Nagar police are on the lookout for two persons, who allegedly duped 34 persons by promising them a job in Taiwan and collecting Rs 13.50 lakh from them.
The police have arrested one, S.K. Sayani in the case.
The police said that the wanted duo— Nusrat Khan alias Khan saheb and K.P. Sharma (whereabouts not known) allegedly collected the advance amounts from Wahabali Shaikh, the complainant, who owns a garage in Mumbai.

Shaikh was informed about the job opportunities for 250 persons in Taiwan by one of his acquaintance, Abdul Hamid and that it would require Rs 45,000 to process each application.
Shaikh came in contact with Nusrat Khan, who introduced himself as the agent of the Taiwan firm, based in Delhi.
In one of their subsequent meetings in Delhi, the accused reportedly showed him the stamped passports and asked Mr Shaikh to collect the money from applicants in Mumbai. The applicants were earlier asked to undergo medical fitness tests.
