MUMBAI: Kaalkaa Real Estates Pvt Ltd, a closely held family concern of Union minister Narayan Rane of the BJP, has filed a fresh petition to challenge a June 3 letter issued by the BMC rejecting its plea for regularization of parts of his 8-storey residence in Juhu.
The petition alleges that BMC has “acted extraneously in its zeal to demolish” the building called Aadish and the rejection letter is sans “application of mind, whimsical and arbitrary”.
On Wednesday, its counsel Amogh Singh mentioned the matter seeking an urgent hearing on June 23 before a bench of Justice R D Dhanuka and Justice M G Sewlikar. He said if the matter is not heard on Thursday, fear is the civic body may begin demolition on Friday. The plea alleged since attempts to harass Rane over his “political speech” failed, “Shiv Sena and (Uddhav) Thackeray” are now using the BMC and “attacking the house of Rane...”
