Is body language indeed universal?
It is an outward reflection of a person’s emotions. What you feel emotionally can be revealed by gestures, postures , expressions and positions . People in all cultures share the same emotionssadness , happiness, love, hate, joy, surprise, etc. This is why the basic body language gestures and expressions are the same in all cultures .

What differs from culture to culture are rude and obscene gestures, amount of eye contact, touch and distances that we stand from someone. Some cultures have their own trademark gesture such as the Indian Head Wobble which can mean yes, no, maybe, I hear you, I understand , etc.
An instance when your own advice wouldn’t work.
I have always promoted the attitude that—in a work environment—you should dress to the next level above your station if you want to be promoted. One of our readers dressed to the next upper level in his workplace. But he was in the police force and was accused of impersonating a senior officer.
