No bail for student in 4cr cyber fraud case

Mumbai: Observing that such cases are rampant in the country, a special CBI court denied bail to 23-year-old Shaurya Singh, a student from Nagpur, in connection with a large-scale cyber fraud case involving approximately Rs 3.81 crore. He is currently a first-year Bachelor of Computer Application student in Nagpur. He was arrested on July 13.According to the prosecution, Shaurya Singh assisted one Sudhir Palande and other co-accused by participating in the transportation of "kits" (cheque books, ATM cards, SIM cards) essential for the cybercrime. He also allegedly facilitated payments for hotel stays and food for accused Sudhir Palande and others, using his bank account in Nagpur. Further, he is accused of operating a COINCDX app account on a rental basis, connected to his bank account, through which expenses were reimbursed via USDT (Tether Crypto Currency). He reportedly received a commission of 500 USDT. The FIR in this case was initially filed against S.P. Cargo and Courier Services Private Ltd and its director, Sudhir Palande, along with other unknown persons. tnn
