New Year's Eve traffic: Police introduce special regulations for a secure city celebration
MUMBAI: The city traffic police have chalked out a plan for a smooth traffic movement and ensure the safety of the pedestrians during the New Year Celebrations in the city. Certain traffic regulations will be implemented from December 31 starting at 6 pm to 6 am on January 1, 2024.
The following roads are closed in South Mumbai: NS Road (North & South Bound) NCPA to Girgaum Chowpatty and vice versa. Veer Nariman Road from Ahilyabai Hokar Chowk to Kilachand Chowk. Dinshaw Vacha Road from WIAA Chowk to Ratanlal Bahuna Chowk (Marine plaza junction). Madam Cama Road from Hutatma Rajguru Chowk to Venutai Chavan Chowk. Barrister Rajni Patel Marg from Sakhar Bhavan Junction to NS Road. Vinay K Shah Marg from Jamanalal Bajaj Marg to Murali Deora Chowk. Stretch of CST Marg from the junction of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Chowk towards Gateway of India upto the Bombay Presidency Club. Adam Street--Bomam Behram Road Junction and Mahakavi Bhushan Marg JUnction. Bombay Presidency Club to Adam Street Junction. BEST Road from SMT Vaylet Alva Chowk to P Ramchandani Road.
The alternative route from South Mumbai: Ramnath Poddar Chowk take right turn to Maharshi Karve Road to Ahilyabai Holkar Chowk to Marine Lines to Charni Road to Pandit Paluskar Chowk. Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Junction left turn via Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil to CTO junction and proceed to desired destination. Kemps Corner Bridge take left turn from RTI junction to NS Patkar Marg to Pandit Paluskar Chowk take left turn to SVP Road and then right turn at Pandit Paluskar Chowk and proceed to desire destination. From Vinoly Chowpatty Junction take left turn and proceed to destination. From Princess Street Bridge take a left turn to Shamaldas Gandhi Marg to Vardhaman Chowk and proceed to destination. Maharshi Karve Road to Ahilyabai Holkar Chowk to Marine Lines to Charni Road to Pandit Paluskar Chowk. Hotel Trident gate right turn to Sakhar Bhavan Junction to Barrister Rajni Patel Marg to Usha Mehta Chowk to Free Press Circule to destination. Ramnath Goenka Marg to Sakhar Bhavan Junction take right to Barrister Rajni Patel Marg to Free Press Circle and head to desired destination.
No parking for all types of vehicles on the following roads in South Mumbai--NS Road, Madam Cama Road, Dinshaw Vacha Road, Maharshi Karve Road, Barrister Rajni Patel Marg, Ramnath Goenka Marg, Veer Nariman Road, Vinay K Shah Road, Mahakavi Bhushan Marg, BEST Road, Henry Road. Boman BEhram Road, Haji Niyaz Azmi Marg. In Central Suburbs--Khan Abdul Kaffar Khan Road and RG Thadani Road. Western Suburbs--Carter Road and KC Marg.
