Neta’s spouse arrested for assaulting cops

MUMBAI: The

police

on Friday arrested two persons, including the

husband

of a

corporator

, for

manhandling

policemen at the

Shivaji Nagar

police station on Thursday night.

One of the arrested persons was Shahfahad Shafiq Ahmed Khan (31), husband of Samajwadi Party corporator Shahira Khan from ward number 134.

The police said the incident happened when they asked workers of a party not to crowd the police station when they arrived there over a dispute among them.

“The staff was trying to move them out but they offered resistance,” DCP (zone 6) Shahji Umap said.
