Neighbour rapes woman, sends clip of act to fiance

MUMBAI: A 45-year-old

married man

from Sakinaka was arrested on Thursday for allegedly raping his 22-year-old neighbour over eight months.

The accused,

Shakur Khan

, who deals in scrap had made a

video clip

of the act which he forwarded to the

woman's fiance

which caused the alliance to be called off.

A police complaint lodged by the woman's parents states that Khan had sexually assaulted their daughter at his house after offering her a soft drink laced with a sedative. "He used to blackmail and rape her by threatening to circulate the video clip," states the complaint. A police officer said that Khan had also sent text messages to the woman's fiance, maligning her character. "On realizing that the fiance was to marry her despite the warnings, Khan sent him objectionable pictures," said the officer. "This led to a break-up of the alliance."

Khan's has been sent to police custody till Monday and his phone has been sent for forensic analysis.
