Navi Mumbai International Airport is set to scale up operations in first summer schedule

Mumbai: Marking its first summer schedule, Navi Mumbai International Airport is set to scale up operations, with average daily departures rising from 22 at launch to 78 by April, and total air traffic movements projected at 1,092 per week, said NMIA on Thursday.The airport, which was inaugurated on Dec 25 last year, will be connected to 46 domestic destinations between March 29 and Oct 24, 2026, with the addition of 30 new routes spanning commercial, tourism and religious centres. The airline's summer schedule runs from the end to the end, with the remaining months covered in the winter schedule. Among the busiest sectors, Delhi (9 daily departures), Goa (7), Bengaluru (6) and Kochi (5) will account for the highest frequency of flights. Other key destinations include Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Varanasi and Indore.
