MUMBAI: After soaring to 36.4 degrees Celsius on Thursday, there was a significant drop in maximum temperature on Friday.
The maximum recorded by IMD Colaba was 30.4 degrees, while IMD Santacruz recorded 33.8 degrees. Weather experts said, however, this dip will last for a brief period before day temperatures begin to soar again.
IMD officials said due to the current anti-cyclone the sky has been clear.
"The northern part of the country has started experiencing warmer weather, which is also leading to higher day temperature in central and western India. We are expecting night and day temperatures to rise across Maharashtra from next week," said an official.
The minimum recorded on Thursday by IMD Colaba and IMD Santacruz remained above normal.
