Bhavya Shah, who appeared for his HSC exams using a computer, scored 90.3%. The visually impaired teen has also secured admission to the prestigious Stanford University for an undergraduate programme.
A science student from T P Bhatia College in Kandivli, Bhavya lost his sight following an illness in Class V. Unbeaten, he passed Class X from CBSE with a near perfect 97%. "Due to the Covid-19 situation, I will be attending classes at Standford online and will go to the US whenever things improve. I am eagerly looking forward to exploring a variety of subjects," said Bhavya. While undecided on his subjects of specialisation, Shah is interested in maths, chemistry and computer science. He got the highest, 97, in maths but wasn't satisfied with his 81 in English.
An ardent debater, he has spent the lockdown judging, hosting and training debaters across the globe.
Bhavya was among the few the state board allowed to use a computer to write the exam. A reader read out the question papers to him and he typed out his answers.
