MUMBAI: Crime branch arrested two gang members who used to target truck drivers ferrying iron and steel used for construction here. Acting on a tip-off unit IX arrested Daulat Chavan and Mohamemd Akram Khan and recovered steel worth Rs 2 lakh from them in Sewri.
Police are looking for at least three accomplices who fled after the police raid. Police said the gang moved around toll nakas and weighing bridges, to force drivers to pay them, and if they did not they would beat them up and take away few 100kg of steel and iron.
