Mumbai: TV actress held with 100 gram ganja

MUMBAI: The Narcotic Control Bureau (NCB), probing the drug angle in Sushant Singh death case, arrested TV actress Pratika Chauhan with 100 gram of ganja from Andheri on early Sunday morning.
On the basis of an intelligence input regarding supply of Marijuana in Varsova, on Saturday evening, a team of NCB Mumbai zonal unit apprehended two persons at Machhimar, Varsova.NCB interrogated Pratika to ascertain if she was using the drugs for her personal consumption or for peddling in the industry.
After the interrogation and recording confessions it transpired that while Faisal (20) was a supplier and Preetika Chauhan (30) was a receiver. Both were placed under arrest under NDPS act and would be produced before a court.
During interrogation, it came to fore that the seized ganja was sourced from one Deepak Rathaur from Varsova.
Further development in the case was under way, said Sameer Wankhede zonal director of NCB.
On Saturday, NCB had arrested private taxi driver Sahil Mazhar (33) and recovered 7.2 gram of charas.
The Enforcement Directorate probing the money laundering angle in Sushant’s death had found chat messages pertaining to drugs on Rhea’s mobile that triggered this investigation. The ED had passed on the details to the NCB. The ED had cloned her mobile and found her involvement in purchase, consumption, transportation and usage of contraband, NCB had claimed.
