MUMBAI: The

Mumbai Traffic Police

have re-issued a notification on ban on movement of heavy vehicles for specific hours in the morning and evening.

Officers warned that strict enforcement of rules would be carried out Saturday onward.

Heavy vehicles are banned from plying between 7am and 11am and between 5pm and 9pm.

The idea is to reduce congestion on city streets during peak hours.

Heavy vehicles had been flouting the rules and could be seen plying on the Western Express Highway regularly, hampering

traffic

movement.
