Shot at the police station, it went viral on social media. Besides the 30-second video, a photograph of the post-birthday celebration also went viral. It is unclear who got the cake and who gave permission to cut it there.
Ayyan Khan can been seen cutting the cake, while a uniformed police officer feeds it to him and around nine others sing 'happy birthday' while clapping. Reports suggested there were two criminal cases against Khan. "One was registered against him in 2010 for kidnapping. He later married the complainant. The court had acquitted him in 2016. He was also allegedly involved in an assault case, and police had filed a 'B summary' report (case detected but not true) in court. He was exonerated there too," said a police officer.
Bhandup police station senior inspector Ramesh Khade said, "It should not have happened at the police station." He clarified there was no case pending against Khan now. The sub-inspectors in the video were named as Shivale and Kokare.
