MUMBAI: A 21-year-old sailor died while working on board

, docked at the Mumbai naval harbour. Rahul Choudhary had suffered serious injuries on Saturday evening. A board of inquiry has been ordered.
Indian Navy sources said Choudhary fell while working in the restricted area. It resulted in serious injuries on his head and nose. When he was found by a colleague, Choudhary was lying unconscious in the area. All attempts to revive him while he was being shifted to INHS Asvini, the naval hospital in south Mumbai, were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead on being brought to the hospital.
Choudhary had worked for the Indian Navy for three years. Survived by his parents, he hailed from Hathras in Uttar Pradesh. His father and uncle claimed his body.
His mortal remains was airlifted, escorted by an officer and 10 sailors from INS Talwar, led by a naval commodore. His last rites will be held at Hathras. Sources said the death was prima facie accidental and no foul play was suspected.
