The incident occurred at the RPF barracks at Grant Road where Sajjansingh lived. According to Sajjansingh, he left early on Thursday for Bandra Terminus to board a long-distance train to his hometown in Madhya Pradesh. “He claims that he learnt about his leave application being cancelled last minute. Around 4am, he kicked on the Mahalaxmi stationmaster’s office door several times. He then returned to the barracks furious. Around 6am, he picked up a stick and smashed up the windows, beacons, headlights and taillights of an Eicher, Innova and Etios parked in the compound,” said senior inspector Pradeep Salunke, Churchgate GRP. Staffers rushed outside to see what the commotion was.
An FIR was registered against Sajjansingh for damaging government property, intimidation and using abusive language. On Friday, he was produced before a holiday court which granted him bail. tnn
