MUMBAI: They came in black, donning psychedelic bandanas, to bow before the Indian flag-bearers of hard rock. And as the decibel levels rose at Thundering Temples 2002 at Rang Bhavan on Saturday evening, the headbangers at the concert with a consciousness experienced new highs.
The concert was organised to raise funds for Times Foundation’s project to provide holistic education and training to students and teachers of 54 municipal schools.

The event, presented by Wigan and Leigh College and co-sponsored by Vaishnavi Corporate Communications, Manikchand-Babulnath Trading and Hero Cycles, brought to the stage the best Indian rock bands—Psychomotor, Euphoria, Agni and Brahma.
Braving the heat, hundreds of youngsters pulled out their crumpled black AC\DC, Poison and Scorpion T-shirts to experience some desi rock wizardry. Psychomotor, a local hard rock band, kick-started the gig belting out some heavy-metal punches. It was followed by the Delhi-based Euphoria, which had the crowds tapping their feet with its Dhoom pichuk dhoom.
