Mumbai reports 575 new COVID-19 cases, 14 fatalities in the last 24 hours

The financial hub of the country recorded 575 new coronavirus cases today, taking the total caseload to 7,17,683. Also, 14 patients succumbed to the infection, pushing the death toll to 15,216.

The new infections remained below the 1,000 level in Mumbai on Tuesday.
The financial hub of the country recorded 575 new coronavirus cases today, taking the total caseload to 7,17,683. Also, 14 patients succumbed to the infection, pushing the death toll to 15,216.
The active cases in the city stand at 15,390, according to data received from Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
On Monday, 529 new coronavirus cases and 19 deaths were reported.

Mumbai recorded 718 recoveries today, pushing the total tally to 6,84,825. The recovery rate in Mumbai is 95 per cent, while the doubling rate has improved to 702 days.
Also, 23,681 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours.
The overall growth rate of COVID-19 cases between June 8 and June 14 was 0.09 per cent. The civic body said at present Mumbai has 19 containment zones in slums and chawls (old row tenements), while the number of sealed buildings is 86.
Maharashtra on Tuesday reported 9,350 fresh cases of coronavirus, taking the case tally to 59,24,773. However, the number of fatalities still remained high as 388 patients succumbed to the virus in just 24 hours. The death toll has mounted to 1,14,154. At present, Maharashtra has 1,38,361 active cases.
