Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi today and discuss issues like the Maratha quota and financial aid for cyclone relief measures. The meeting is taking place over a month after the Supreme Court struck down a 2018 law providing reservation to the Maratha community in jobs and education in the state. Mumbai witnessed a decline in daily coronavirus cases on Monday. With 728 new cases and 28 fatalities, the city’s infection tally has reached 7,12,329 and the death toll stands at 15,066. Maharashtra on Monday reported 10,219 fresh coronavirus positive cases, the lowest after March 9 this year, and 154 fatalities while 21,081 patients were discharged. Also, Aarey Colony authorities on Monday handed over 286.7 hectares of land to the Maharashtra government. A statement from the chief minister's office said the Aarey land parcel handed over comprises 125 hectares in Borivali, 71 hectares in Goregaon and 89 hectares in Marol Maroshi.

Maharashtra reports 10,219 Covid-19 cases
Maharashtra on Monday reported 10,219 fresh coronavirus positive cases, the lowest after March 9 this year, and 154 fatalities while 21,081 patients were discharged, the state health department said. With the new additions, Maharashtra's caseload now stands at 58,42,000 and the toll at 1,00,470. On March 9, Maharashtra had reported 9,927 Covid-19 cases.
