Maharashtra administers highest number of vaccine doses

Maharashtra has carried out the highest number of vaccinations in a single day. A total of 552909 people got vaccinated as the drive was opened for people above 18 years. The state's previous high was 534372 vaccinations achieved on April 26. For the second consecutive day, Mumbai has vaccinated over 1 lakh people. On Tuesday, 1,13,135 people got vaccinated across 382 centres.

Villages put on alert as water rises in Palghar dam

The Palghar district administration on Tuesday directed officials to alert residents of villages located near the Kurze dam as its water level has been rising fast due to heavy rains here in Maharashtra. The district disaster management cell CEO Dr Kiran Mahajan, in an official communication to tehsildars (revenue officers) of Dahanu and Talasari, said water was getting filled up fast in the dam located at Dapchari due to heavy downpour in the area.
