Night curfew in Maharashtra from March 28

Shops to remain closed in Kalyan-Dombivali

The Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal (KDMC) commissioner Dr Vijay Suryawanshi on Friday announced that all shops and offices except those selling essential items will remain closed in Kalyan-Dombivali every Saturday and Sunday due to rising COVID-19 cases. The hotel and restaurants will also remain closed on Saturday and Sunday. However, parcel facility will be allowed. Only 50 per cent of shops will remain open in vegetable markets. NMMC doctors conduct RAT in Seawoods Grand Central Mall

Bhandup Fire

A fire that broke out in the Dreams Mall in Bhandup soon escalated to the Sunrise COVID-19 Hospital, located on the top floor of the mall, claiming 10 lives. Out of at least 78 patients trapped inside, 73 were undergoing treatment for coronavirus. Most of the persons who died were on ventilator support in the hospital. Anil Dharker passes away

Renowned journalist and writer Anil Dharker passed away on Thursday. He was undergoing treatment for a heart ailment and breathed his last in the hospital. Following the news of his demise, several eminent personalities took to social media platforms to express their condolences to the late writer. Dharker was the founder of the Mumbai International Literary Festival.
