Mumbaikars take the jab

Goregaon residents Ashok Yadav, Mithilesh Pandey and Nandkumar Shetty took the vaccine at Nesco jumbo centre in Goregaon today. All three above 45 years of age were happy that the relaxation allowed them to get vaccinated. “In the light of rising cases, we were eagerly waiting to get vaccinated. Our housing complex has many positive cases now,” said Yadav, who lost his father to COVID-19 in February. The Goregaon centre is among the five in Mumbai that will be vaccinating in two shifts.

Senior citizens in queue

Senior citizens in the city are still being administered the vaccine at several designated hospitals and COVID centres. More than 6.5 crore vaccine doses have been administered across the country so far to frontline workers, healthcare workers, those above 60 and for people aged above 45 with specified co-morbid conditions.
