Mumbai: Newly elected Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Mahesh Sawant undergoes successful angioplasty at Lilavati hospital

Mahesh Sawant, the newly elected Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA from Mahim, was admitted to Lilavati Hospital after undergoing an angioplasty. He experienced severe chest pain due to work stress and was initially taken to Hinduja Hospital before being transferred. He is now stable and recovering.

MUMBAI: Mahesh Sawant, recently elected Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA from Mahim, was admitted to Lilavati Hospital, recovering from an angioplasty performed on Thursday evening.
Sawant was rushed to Hinduja Hospital on Wednesday night after experiencing chest pain and was then transferred to Lilavati, where he was operated on and is now stable.
"He was under a lot of stress throughout the polls. Even after the elections, he was under a lot of pressure. Only a day ago, he rushed to help a patient at KEM. Work stress took a toll," said his close aide.
He further added, "On Thursday, he was complaining of severe chest pain. We rushed him to Hinduja, and then the family decided to take him to Lilavati."
