Mumbai Metro lines 2A and 7 timings changed for Oct 12-18 period
Mumbai: Commuters on will need to adjust their travel plans next week as the Maha Operation Corporation Limited () revises train timings. This change is to facilitate the integration of Metro Line 7 with the upcoming Line 9 Phase-I section between Dahisar East and Kashi Gaon.The temporary schedule will be in effect from October 12 to 18. During this period, both Metro Lines 2A (Dahisar East–Andheri West) and 7 (Gundavali–Ovaripada) will start operations from 7 am instead of the usual 5.25 am.During the seven-day period, the first trains will roll out around 7 am. From Dahanukarwadi, the first train to Gundavali will depart at 7.01 am on weekdays, at 7 am on Saturday, and at 7.04 am on Sunday. The first train to Andheri West will leave at 7.06 am on weekdays, at 6.58 am on Saturday, and at 6.59 am on Sunday.From Dahisar East, the first service to Andheri West will depart at 7.02 am on all days, while the first train to Gundavali will leave at 6.58 am on weekdays, 7.06 am on Saturday, and 7.01 am on Sunday.Similarly, from Andheri West, the first train to Gundavali will begin at 7.01 am on weekdays, 7.02 am on Saturday, and 7.04 am on Sunday. From Gundavali, the first service towards Andheri West will depart at 7.06 am on weekdays, 7.02 am on Saturday, and 7 am on Sunday.Officials stated that the change is necessary for the final round of system integration and safety trials of Line 9, which forms an extension of the Red Line and will eventually offer seamless connectivity from Andheri to Mira Bhayander.The Research Design and Standards Organisation (RDSO) completed its inspection of the Line 9 Phase-I section on September 23, and independent safety assessments are now underway. After the successful completion of these checks, the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) will be invited for final approval before the commissioning of the new line in December.Passengers have been urged to check updated schedules on the Mumbai 1 app, MMMOCL's social media platforms, and station display boards before planning their journeys.
