Mumbai Marathon: Hits and glitches

MUMBAI: On Sunday, the city was all the rage for roadsters on two legs. On the ground, the Superman was Ramaala.
The South African''s liquid grace and laidback nature won over the fans, and they hoisted him aboard their shoulders immediately after he had crossed the finish line.
Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray, deputy Chief Minister V.M. Patil, former Union sports minister Suresh Kalmadi, actors Kajol and Tanuja and Milind Soman, cricket great Kapil Dev, track superstars Michael Johnson andMike Powell got the Dream Run going.
There were several glitches, of course.Many went back without the goodie bags and certificates that they were promised. Athletes were misguided at certain points of the route and wasted chunks of time getting back on track.
H.C. Ramu of Services also had a problem on his hands. He did not have a licence to drive home the Indica he won for being India''s best performer in the full marathon.
