Mumbai man posts morphed photos of ex-girlfriend’s mother and sister with obscene content, booked

Mumbai: Malwani police have registered a case against a man for allegedly morphing photographs of his former girlfriend’s mother and sister with obscene content and circulating them to her family and relatives on social media.

In her police complaint, the 25-year-old woman, who lives in Malwani with her parents and siblings, said that she befriended the accused, identified only as Arif, on Instagram in May 2025. The two would chat regularly and got into a relationship. In January 2026, the two went to Hyderabad for an outing. According to the complainant, Arif took photographs of her mother and sister from her, and also took contact numbers of her family members.

After they returned to Mumbai, their relations soured. They started to have frequent altercations. The complainant later found that photographs of her mother and sister morphed with obscene content were being circulated on social media by Arif among her family and relatives. She then approached Malwani police who registered an FIR against the accused for defamation and intimidation.
