Mumbai: A dispute over tobacco turned violent in Worli on Monday when a man allegedly attacked two brothers with a knife, injuring both. Worli police have registered an FIR for attempted murder and arrested the accused, Nilesh Bhosale (34), a resident of BDD Chawl in Worli.
Police said Bhosale allegedly confronted his neighbour Vijay Bhandare over a refusal to give him tobacco three days ago. Bhosale allegedly stabbed Bhandare multiple times on the chest, back and hands, and also attacked his elder brother Pradip (61) when he intervened. Bhosale then allegedly threatened onlookers with the knife, sending residents fleeing. Bhandare was rushed to hospital.
