MUMBAI: CSMT-Madgaon
Vande Bharat Express, whose inaugural run will be flagged on June 27, will operate only three days in a week due to speed restrictions imposed on the Konkan Railway route during the monsoon period.
The train will run for 6 days ago, except Friday, after the monsoon time table is replaced by regular schedule.
During the monsoon month, the train will run on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from Mumbai. The train will depart from CSMT at 5.32 am and reach Madgaon after 10 hours at 3.30 pm.
For return journey, the train will leave from Madgaon at 12.20 pm and arrive CSMT at 10.25 pm. From Madgaon, the train will run on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday during the monsoon.
After monsoon, the 8-coach train will have 11 halts and will take 7.50 hours to cover this distance 586km. The Tejas express, which is at present fastest train takes 8 hours and 50 minutes to cover the same distance. This train has better acceleration and deceleration because of which there is savings in time.
The inaugural run of the train was earlier scheduled on June 3.
