Mumbai housing society residents allege being given fake Covid vaccination shots
It all started when a private vaccination drive was conducted in the Samta Nagar area of Mumbai in May, where 618 employees from four different organisations were administered the vaccine. However, none of them received their certificate post taking the jab, which triggered their suspicions.
They then approached the police and an investigation was launched into the matter. It was found out that the drive was a part of a fake vaccination racket that was being run in the city.
A total of nine FIRs have been filed related to the case so far, the latest one being on June 30.
Meanwhile, the prime accused in the case, one Dr Manish Tripathi has been sent to police custody till July 4.
