Major fire breaks out in Mumbai's Sanjay Gandhi National Park area

MUMBAI: A massive blaze erupted around the Sanjay Gandhi National Park (SGNP) in Goregaon area on Monday evening. The fire spread across 3km.
Four fire engines were rushed to the site initially. However, by night, the Mumbai fire brigade has increased the number of fire engines to 10.
No casualties have been reported so far in the fire incident.
"There is no access to the fire vehicles inside the forest.

As fire is spreading we have asked the disaster management to alert all the police stations in the surrounding area to evacuate the people and cattle," an official said.
The blaze was at F.E. Dinshaw trust property which lies between Sanjay Gandhi National Park (SGNP) and Aarey Colony.
According to the SGNP director Anwar Ahmed, the fire started in the evening at around 6.30pm.
