Popular spots such as Gateway of India, Marine Drive, Girgaum Chowpatty, Juhu Beach, and Bandstand in Bandra are expected to see heavy foot traffic on December 31.

A total of 12,048 constables, 2,184 officers, 53 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs), 29 deputy commissioners of police (DCPs), and 8 additional commissioners of police will be stationed across key areas.

Additional security measures will include the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) platoons, Quick Response Teams (QRTs), Bomb Detection and Disposal Squads (BDDS), and Riot Control Police, along with Home Guard personnel.

Authorities will implement ‘nakabandi’ (police checkposts) at critical junctions, and a special drive against drunk driving will be conducted throughout the night.

Stringent action will be taken against individuals involved in eve-teasing, creating public disturbances, and selling illicit alcohol or drugs. The crackdown on drunk drivers will continue into the early hours of January 1, officials confirmed.
