MUMBAI: A police constable on duty was injured Thursday after he was hit by a motorcycle in suburban Vikhroli during vehicle checking, an official said.
The incident occurred when police personnel on a 'nakabandi' duty on the Eastern Express Highway signalled a motorcycle, rode by a man who was covering his face with a handkerchief, to stop. His friend was riding pillion.
The duo ignored the police' call to stop and tried to speed away when they rammed their motorcycle into constable Chaitanya Rajput (31), the official said.
