A city taxi union has called for a strike on June 15 to protest against "illegal" operations of certain private taxi aggregators within city limits.

MUMBAI: A city taxi union has called for a strike on June 15 to protest against "illegal" operations of certain private taxi aggregators within city limits.
The autorickshaw union too has called for a strike on June 17 over the same issue.
Union leader K K Tiwari of Swabhiman Taxi Union told TOI: "It is illegal for taxi aggregators to ply cabs within Mumbai.

Auto union leader Shashank Rao also opposed private cab aggregators’ entry on local routes.
Tiwari said the transport ministry should not have set aside Hakim committee’s recommendations. "The government has been acting against the interests of taxi drivers," he said.
