Police said the deceased was slim, bald and was wearing a pink checks shirt and trouser. An accidental death record has been registered by Gorai police.

On Thursday night, Borivali Police had received a phone call about a man slipping into the water at Borivali jetty. The fire brigade was summoned and a thorough search was carried out. But the man wasn't found.

"We cannot be sure if the deceased found at Gorai jetty on Friday morning is the same person who fell into the water at Borivali jetty on Thursday night. Things will be clearer once his identity is established and his family is traced," said a police officer.

Gorai police have taken photographs of the deceased and are sending them to all police stations to find out if a missing complaint matching the man's description has been made with any police station.
