Mumbai: Bihar man held for threat calls to blow up Mukesh Ambani's home, hospital

MUMBAI: The D B Marg police arrested a 30-year-old man from Bihar for allegedly making threat calls to blow up Sir H N Reliance Foundation hospital and further threatening to blow up industrialist Mukesh Ambani's residence, Antilia.

Zonal DCP Neelotpal said, "A team of Mumbai police has detained a person from a block in Darbhanga, Bihar, at midnight with the help of Bihar police."

The arrested accused, Rakesh Kumar Mishra, is said to be unemployed. "We are questioning him and trying to find out what was his motive behind making the threat calls," said an officer.

Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital on Wednesday received two calls from an unknown person. He threatened to blow up the hospital, Ambani's Altamount residence Antilia and said that he would take the lives of several members of the Ambani family. Both the phone calls had been made from the same cellphone number.

The DB Marg police have registered a case against an unidentified person for criminal intimidation and criminal intimidation by anonymous communication.

Mishra, a resident of Brahmpura village under the Manigachhi police station area in Darbhanga, has been arrested under sections 506 (2) and 507 (criminal intimidation by anonymous communication) of Indian Penal Code.

The Mumbai police said that they had raided Mishra's village house and arrested him with the help of Darbhanga police.

The cellphone that had allegedly been used to make the threat calls has also been seized, said the police officials.
