Mumbadevi MLA scotches rumours he’s leaving Cong

Mumbai: Congress MLA from Mumbadevi Amin Patel on Tuesday denied he was planning to quit Congress. In a post on X, Patel scotched rumours of him following in the footsteps of Congress leaders like Milind Deora and Ashok Chavan. “My dear supporters and well wishers. There are rumours circulating about my departure from the Congress party. I want to clarify that these claims are false and baseless. I am firmly committed to the Congress party. Thank you for your support today and always,” Patel wrote. A former corporator and a three-term MLA from the Congress, Patel is seen to be close to ex-Mumbai South MP Milind Deora. — Mohammed Wajihuddin
